The MOHAKA RIVER is an overnight rafting expedition into a remote forested area between the Central North Island flowing to the east coast Wairoa region.  This wild river begins with a day of diverse scenery, amazing rock formations, peaceful stretches, a delicious picnic lunch, before an afternoon of fun and exciting rapids.
Sleeping over in nearby shearer's quarters or campsite with an evening barbeque, and a hearty breakfast is the perfect preparation for the following day.  Day Two we enter a gorge of towering 100 meter high limestone cliffs, truck size boulders, rafting long high grade rapids with tributary waterfalls cascading from above.

Equipment and meals supplied.  Bring small bag of personal gear and sleeping bag for overnighting.  Groups on this river are our speciality.
