OVERNIGHT TONGARIRO Combine the thrill of rafting the pristine deep gorge of the Tongariro River, with overnighting in a bush clearing pitched with tents and camp kitchen. Amongst fellow adventurers and often with your friends and family, this is a back to nature experience.

Typically the adventure begins early afternoon at our base, with all gear stowed away in water tight containers, introductions and rafting briefs given prior to traveling to the nearby river. All equipment is rafted in and out for the trip, so in laden boats the rafting commerces through rapids called Nau Mai Haere Mai - Welcome; Cheese Grater; Leg Breaker; and Earthquake Gully to name a few.

All too soon it's time to make camp, to relax and enjoy the twilight while your Wai Maori Guide prepares a plentiful camp feast.

Next morning wake to chorus of bird life, and the smell of a cooked breakfast. The day ahead takes you through at least another fifty rapids, a visit and jump off the Puketarata Falls (conditions permitting), with delhi lunch at the Blue Pool.

Equipment and meals supplied. Bring small bag of personal gear and sleeping bag.
