SCHOOL GROUPS: With Rafting & Kayaking obviously our specialty, we're proud to have schools join us for over 15 years. Year after year we have dozens of school and youth groups returning. A testament to the value the teachers, parents and students consider of the freshwater adventures we provide.

Wai Maori Adventures combines the fun and thrills of natures freshwater at work, and respect that it commands, the beautiful scenery, plus the achievement and fulfillment that the students master along the way.

Wai Maori provides School Groups with the options of the Whitewater Tongariro for students 13 years and older. The Lower Tongariro is suitable for younger children ideally for ages 8 - 12 years, or students with special needs.

For older students 15 years and older who are fit and capable there are the options of introductory Whitewater Kayaking, or (for sizable groups) raft the higher graded rivers: Wairoa, Kaituna, Rangitaiki, and Rangitikei.

The Lake & Stream Kayaking is a great trip for accompanied intermediate and high school kids, as they negotiate the meandering Tokaanu Stream out into Southern Lake Taupo.

Our professional staff are the core of our business, and their ability to interact with your school group will bring good humor, unlimited patience, cultural and legendary stories, and a safety record we pride ourselves on.

For all our river trips we supply top quality equipment for safety and comfort. Students and their caregivers need to bring: swimsuits, towels, the ability to follow instructions and laugh a lot.
